In these measurements, sequential injection analysis (SIA) is combined either with UV-vis or Raman spectroscopy. It is possible to measure pH in the pH range of 7.0 to 10.5.

This method for optical measuring of pH possesses an excellent reproducibility and
requires measurement times less than 30 s. The method may possibly be useful for special automated
on-line applications by a proper choice of incorporated chemical components.
