The e lectrochemical apparatus includes Autolab PGSTAT12 pontentiostat and a conventional three-electrode cell. The pontentiostat is operated using Nova 1.3 software.

The apparatus is used to analyse the charge transfer between the electrode and the electrolyte or the ion transfer in the electrolyte. For example the corrosion of metal alloys in a liquid phase can be studied. The apparatus can also be used for electrodeposition. Commonly utilized analysis methods are cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).

Sample dimensions: flat, round-shaped, diameter of 9.0 mm.

Volume of the electrochemical cell: 100 ml.

FRA2-module for impedance measurements.

pX-module for pH measurements.

Nitrogen gas bubbling is applied for deoxygenation.
