  • Ingot size 20 g - 350 g depending on alloy composition
  • Melting in a pre-evacuated(<1 x 10 -5 mbar), Ti-gettered, reduced pressure Ar-atmosphere (needed for plasma)
  • X, Y and Z control for melting (plasma cathode)
  • Available casting methods: tilt-casting, suction-casting and cap-casting, all  to a copper-mould

  • Mainly used to alloy and cast Bulk Metallic Glasses
  • Secondary use to produce custom alloys in high purity conditions
  • Can be used to alloy most compositions, like Fe, Ti, Zr, W etc. up to ~3500 °C temperature
  • Can be used to produce custom alloy magnetron sputtering targets up to 3'' size

  • Manipulator for flipping the alloy ingot without breaking the vacuum
  • Alloying and casting in a single process without breaking the vacuum
  • Maximum current <500 A
  • Maximum voltage <30 kV
  • Base pressure ~ 10 -7 mbar region
